Although the Sausage Chalet is not actually the name of this meat market, you just can’t help but love it.
My husband and I recently made the trek across the state to Patek Meats (the Sausage Chalet), and if you are in the Atlanta area, it is well worth the trip. This is not your ordinary meat market, but a market that sells both retail and wholesale European meats and sausages. Its selection is huge and unlike anything I have ever seen and the prices are amazingly good. My husband has been there before, but this is the first time he has taken me. It is one of the few places he can find some of his German mother’s favorites such as Teawurst that he grew up eating. I have to say, I was quite impressed and can’t wait to return when we run out!
In addition, to the meats shown above, they carry other European products such as condiments, candies, cookies, and breads.
Here is a photo of a little of each type of meat we bought: German Salami, Andouille Sausage, Teawurst, Brats, Bacon, and Westphalia Ham.
Processed brand name sausage is for city folk. The best sausage you can by is fresh raw ground and stuffed sausage links found at local meat meat markets.
