These white chocolate cherry martinis would be the perfect addition to your New Year’s Eve celebration. They would have been great for Christmas and would be great for Valentine’s Day too. And, well, they would be good anytime really. They are made with white chocolate liquor, whipped cream vodka, and maraschino cherries blended with kirsch. Yummy!
You, of course, don’t have to do this, but I rimmed my glasses with white chocolate and one with red and one with gold sugar – because I couldn’t decide. If you are going to do it though, I will tell you how. Spread your sugar in a small flat plate like a salad plate. Microwave your white chocolate in another similar plate at fifty percent power and for thirty second intervals (stirring between each) until melted. Dip the rim of the glass into the white chocolate. You only need a little. If you get it on too thick it will be too heavy and sag down the sides before it cools. Before the chocolate sets up, dip the glass in the sugar. Allow to set up before adding your drink. It adds a pretty festive touch along with an extra bit of sweetness with each sip.
